Custom Online Reservation System

The Brief:

Our team at Liquidfish was tasked with coming up with a reservation system for the Oklahoma Contemporary Art Museum. The museum was set to open 2020. But as most know, this was during the height of the COVID US shutdown. While watching how the pandemic public protocols changing, the museum decided to get a reservation system set up so that they could monitor the amount of people coming to the exhibits when the museum was able to open up again for visitors and event guests. Since the future and timing was unknown, the deadline was a very quick turnaround and had a small budget for UI designs.

The Plan:

More specifics of the reservation system included having an end user iframe embedded on the museum's current site and a dashboard workers could use to book and check-in reservations. The team set for this project included a project manager, a UI designer (me) and a dev to build it. I lead the charge with organizing how this project was going to be built by mapping out the details and user experience with userflows. After these were approved by the client I got started on full designs, since this was a quick turn around we skipped wireframes. I used the current style established by live museum site to make sure the application was a seem-less experience. As I worked through the designs, I made sure to check in with developer to make sure the functionality I was building was possible and simple for him to build. The end result was a success with the client. They are currently using the system as slowly open up to the public.
