EightyTwenty Solar Company - Website

EightTwenty.com

The Brief:
Our Creative Team at liquidfish was tasked with finishing the full design and developing EightTwenty's website. EightTwenty is a solar company, based in Oklahoma that is founded on not only bringing sustainable energy to Oklahomans, but giving back to communities as a part of their model. We were handed over 4 full designs of their site from another agency in town called Switch. The designs were lovely, but wasn't quite the messaging and interactivity that the company needed. Since we have the UI/UX talent and dev team to support custom interactions, we were able to find ways to make their site more functional and unique.

The Process:
The handoff of this project was quite confusing. The handoff was an Adobe XD file with only 4 full pages done. I was able to step in and lead the creative team, devs, and client in finding what interactions, requirements, and content was needed to finish the site. The final count of pages was 14 unique pages, a custom homepage landing interaction, a blog, custom shot b-roll videos shot by us, and a solar calculator (that entailed a custom algorithm on the backend to help customers to find their savings when switching to solar before even inquiring). Because the launch date for the brand was very fast approaching, our team worked hard for 2 months creating content, rewriting all copy, the messaging, designing, and building the final site.

To start this project, I created user flows (all in Sketch) to help everyone agree on what was needed for the rest of the site. This helped with content and scope. Once these were agreed upon, I moved to full designs. Because this site was handed off and already had some web designs established, I built out the UI kit based on the designs sent (all in Adobe XD). I then created the rest of the pages and worked with the rest of the team to add in final content.

After final designs were approved, me and another designer worked rapidly to build out the final site on Webflow. We worked around the clock on different timezones, looping in a few key developers to get the custom interactions on the website just right. Thankfully we hit the deadline and the final product looks great. The client was so happy, they signed on to have us create a Mobile App for them. We are currently in the work on those designs.
